Kate Grady Pergola

During Kate's two-year plus battle with breast cancer, she encountered many other women who could not afford the cost of treatment (medication, co-payments, wigs, etc.) due to lack of sufficient insurance. In many instances these women were forced to make a choice between paying for treatment or paying for childcare or the electric bill. Even through the worst of times, Kate always felt blessed that she did not have to make these type of difficult choices and could devote all of her time and energy to getting well and being with her family. As these women truly touched Kate, her wish before she passed was that her family and friends do whatever they could to assist women with breast cancer who were not as fortunate as she was in her fight. The Pink Tie Foundation, Inc. will help grant Kate's wish as it was created for the purpose of raising money for breast cancer research, awareness and education and to assisting underprivileged women who cannot afford the cost of treatment. Kate's legacy will never be defined by her battle with breast cancer or even by her death. She will always be remembered by the way she lived and how she touched so many lives and will continue to do so through her family, friends and the foundation.
