In November 2008, representatives from The Pink Tie Foundation presented a check for $10,000 to Cooper Cancer Institute (CCI) in memory of Kate Grady Pergola, a patient of CCI who passed away in January 2008 after a three-year battle with breast cancer.

Kate, her family and friends founded The Pink Tie Foundation to raise funds to support local breast cancer organizations. Throughout the year foundation members held fundraising events, participated in the Susan G. Komen Three Day Walk and other breast cancer awareness events. Through their efforts they support local organizations and families in need of assistance. The funds donated to CCI through The Pink Tie Foundation will benefit CCI's Patient in Need fund.
